A is for Airplane!

I like traveling. I enjoy visiting new places. I get excited when I have a new trip coming. Recently, I won a trip to Universal Orlando as part of the CafeMom Influencer program (thanks to CafeMom and K-Mart!!!). Amazing, right? Well, the thought of flying (and changing planes in a major airport) with two small kids, did not excite me.
Headed into the airport

Once again, my children surprised me. We flew out on Thursday. We had to get up at 5am to get to the airport on time. I thought that because they were sleep deprived, they wouldn't be angels on the plane. I couldn't have been more wrong. They were tired, however, their excitement about flying was more than enough to keep them distracted.

The plane just arrived!

They sat in the Corpus International Airport waiting patiently for our plane to arrive. As soon as it pulled in, they were giddy with excitement. We were one of the first ones to to get on the plane, so they got to pick their own seats.

Thing 2 enjoying some complimentary peanuts

Each row only had 3 seats, so we sat in two separate rows. Scout and Thing 1 in one row; Thing 2 and I in front of them.

Clouds. Thing 2 said that they looked like marshmallows.

They weren't afraid. They didn't cry. They were polite to the flight crew. In short, they were perfect little travelers. I can't wait for our next adventure.

I'm so impressed with Thing One and Thing Two being behaved so well on the plane. I've flown quite a bit over the last couple years (monthly for a lot of it) and most children were scared or overwhelmed.

I hope you guys had a great time!

So nice to win such a fun trip. Traveling with kids can be a scary proposition. As long as you are prepared for various scenarios it usually turns out ok. We've been traveling with our son since he was around 10 months old. That first plane ride was not fun because his ears started to hurt due to the pressure changes, but since then we haven't had any problems.

First, congrats on winning a trip! Where do they do that?! Wow.

My daughter surprised me with her airplane travel behavior as well. She is an ace flyer! Loves it and behaves so well. You may have two little world travelers on your hands!
